pictures tomorrow, words today

I am done with my biggest ever drawing and printing project. 26 letters are drawn, phonetically approved, letterpress-printed and and ready to go in a lovely edition of 75.

This morning, I tried to make it to a yoga class and upon arriving realized I couldn't see straight-a la migraine headache. I couldn't properly formulate sentences either. I wanted to give a hand printed invitation to my favorite teacher. And I did, but only in a jarring, quasi-non verbal fashion, at which point I decided it best to forego the class and the challenges of balance and poise. Instead I wandered around the grocery store down the street in my yoga pants with a pastry and some coffee, examining face creams and bath salts. Somehow this did the trick and I recovered enough to spend the day in the press, finishing all the type in a rich butterscotch hued ink.

Tomorrow my little brother is flying in from San Francisco and I am thrilled. I'm going to pick him up at the airport and he's going to help me laugh while we hang everything on the wall.

Then I've got my fingers crossed we'll have time to have dinner at Pok Pok in the whiskey soda lounge, where I am enamored with the the khao soi (Yes, I probably spelled it wrong) and the fish sauce chicken wings and about everything else. Oh, and we'll have to have whiskey too.

Wish me luck and I'll wish you the same.
